The "nth" evokes the idea of links existing at arbitrary positions within a chain or graph of references—useful for content-addressed systems, federated platforms, and semantic networks. How it works An NthLink contains three layers: - Identifier: a compact, resolvable token (could be a hash, DID, or conventional URL). - Metadata: structured JSON-LD-like descriptors that include the link’s purpose, relationship type, expiry, required user attributes, and optional preview hints. - Policy: cryptographically signed rules that govern access control, transformation, and routing—e.g., require consent, redirect through a proxy, or prefer P2P resolution.
